About Beauty Fix Files
Beauty Fix Files reviews the beauty products women see in ads, so you can decide before you buy. Hair growth capsules, peptide serums, facial hair oils, lymphatic drops: if it shows up on your feed with a countdown timer and a "70% off" banner, we look at it closely.
Why this site exists
You see a product in a video. The before and after looks great. Then you search for it and find two kinds of pages: the seller's own page, and pages that copy it word for word. Nobody tells you what it really costs per month, whether the "guarantee" has conditions, or how to cancel the subscription you didn't notice you signed up for.
That's the gap we fill. Every review answers the questions you'd ask a friend who already looked into it: what's in it, what it costs, how the guarantee really works and whether it's worth trying.
What we cover
- Thinning hair: shedding, slow growth, hair after weight loss or after 50, and the supplements and shampoos women ask about.
- Crepey neck and skin: peptide serums and firming products for the neck, chest and face.
- Chin and lip hair: unwanted facial hair, including the grey and blonde hairs laser misses.
- Puffiness: morning puffy face, swollen ankles and the lymphatic drops everyone is talking about.
Who writes here
I'm Erin Caldwell, and I write every review on this site. I'm 46. I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, and I've lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, since 2009.
My mother ran a neighborhood hair salon, and I spent my teenage years at the front desk and the shampoo bowl. I learned early that a pretty bottle means nothing, and that the women who sat in my mother's chair wanted the truth about what would work on their hair.
For 11 years I worked in customer support and billing for a beauty subscription box company. I talked to women every day who had been charged again without noticing, who couldn't find how to cancel, or who found out their "guarantee" came with conditions. I learned where companies put every rule.
At 43, after a hard year and a crash diet, I started finding more hair in the drain and my ponytail got thinner. My doctor found low iron, and we treated it. Along the way I did what so many of us do: I bought biotin gummies and a shampoo I saw in an ad. The shampoo came with a subscription I hadn't noticed, and it took me three charges to cancel it. Me, of all people.
That's why this site exists. Before you buy, you should know what's on the label, what it really costs, how the guarantee works and how to cancel.
What I'm not: I'm not a dermatologist, a trichologist or a doctor. I won't tell you a product will cure anything. I'll tell you what I checked, what the company says and how to try it with your money protected. If your hair loss is sudden or patchy, see a doctor first.
How we review
We read the label and the ingredients on the official site. We check the price and the packs on the real order page and write down the date. We read the terms: the guarantee, the subscription and how cancelling works. Then we tell you plainly who the product is for and how to try it with your money protected. The full process is on How We Review.
We don't pretend to have used a product we haven't. When we share what customers say, we tell you where it came from.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That keeps the site free to read. It never decides what we write: see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Important
We're not doctors or dermatologists. Hair loss, skin changes and swelling can have medical causes, so check with a clinician when something changes suddenly. Read our Disclaimer.
